Joshua 6 … Consider His Call to See

While Jericho is shut up tight, while no one is coming in or going out, while it is barricaded and seemingly impenetrable, “The Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the valiant warriors,'” (6:2).

Jericho still had to be conquered, but according to what the Lord said to Joshua, it was already accomplished.

Consider His Call to See

Now Jericho was tightly shut because of the sons of Israel; no one went out and no one came in. 2 The Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the valiant warriors. 3 You shall march around the city, all the men of war circling the city once. You shall do so for six days. 4 Also seven priests shall carry seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark; then on the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. 5 It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people will go up every man straight ahead,” (6:1-5).

How do we respond to His Call to See?

We can begin by asking Him to open our eyes to See.

Open my eyes that I may see
wondrous things from Your law,
(Psalm 119:18 BSB).

Below are just a few Scriptures to strengthen us in answering His Call to See. Let us spend time in prayer, asking Him to open our eyes to See His wondrous things, that we would answer His Call!

Oh, may we never get over the privilege He has granted to us in His Call to See. Today, and every day, let us answer His Call!

When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You,
“Your face, O Lord, I shall seek,” (Psalm 27:8).

Let’s See and Grow Together!
